Ronald McDonald House Is Looking for Your Help

Hadassah has been serving meals every Thursday at the Ronald McDonald House on the University of Minnesota campus (east bank) for 30 some years. We’ve had captains and teams preparing, warming and serving up to 100 people--patients and their families, all this time quietly fulfilling a Hadassah mission of helping to heal and support the sick here at “home.”  We have lost several teams for various reasons and need more teams so we are reaching out to you and asking you to step up, pitch in, and have fun at the same time.  Tasks include cooking on site or providing cooked food that is purchased from a professional resource such as Costco, Sam’s Club, Cub, etc., delivering the meal to the House and providing servers to dish up, clean up, and smile with good cheer and well wishes to family, staff, and most of all the patients undergoing treatment in nearby University hospitals.  Talk to one of our captains, Terry Hallfin at 763-588-5597 or email her at terrybmn@visi.com to find out how you can be a part of this worthwhile endeavor.  Ronald is waiting to hear from you.  Don’t think about it -- just give it a try!

Hadassah:  The Power of Women who Do

We are 330,000 members strong. What a lot of women power! We can and do use that power to advocate for important women's issues and support advanced medical care and research in Israel, to name just two issues that Hadassah supports.  Be one of the women who do.

•  Do go www.hadassah.org to find out how to become an advocate for the many issues that Hadassah is involved in.
•  Do find out about the cutting-edge medical research HMO supports.
•  Do find out how you can support breast cancer education.
•  Do join the Hadassah’s Heart Healthy program: Every Beat Counts.
•  Do make your voice heard!  Make sure your legislators know where you stand on priority Hadassah issues, including a strong US-Israel relationship and women's health equity! Meet face to face with federal policymakers—in your own community—to advocate for issues that matter to us, as Zionists and American women.
•  Do go to www.Hadassah.org to learn more about our amazing organization.

If you are interested in becoming more involved with Hadassah or know of anyone who might be interested in becoming a member to help with Hadassah's important work, please contact Terry Hallfin at terrybmn@visi.com. or 763-588-5597 or Rosa Liberty at librp68@gmail.com.

"It's May!  It's May!  The Lusty Month of May" (to quote Guinevere in Camelot)

After "lusting" for spring during our endless winter, consider joining the walking group. We walk on different paths around the lakes, on paths that are part of the Three Rivers Park District, and through interesting neighborhoods.  We meet at 10:30 on Tuesday and Thursday.  When the weather is bad, we walk inside so the elements shouldn’t keep you from coming.  This is an easy group to belong to.  We don’t ask that you commit to come every Tuesday and Thursday morning.  We know that life gets busy.  So come when you can. We always are happy to see you.

For more information about the walking group, contact Terry Hallfin at terrybmn@visi.com.
