Presidents Message Logo 2021
Dear Hadassah Broward,
We have experienced a fun and meaningful Awards brunch, The Szoldies, on May 22, complements of Cheryl Cotler, chair, and Region Program VP, and committee Sophie Gottlieb, Galia Barlow, Carole Kralstein, Linda Bonomo, and Dorrie Kahn.
This capped off a well thought out 4 part series, Women Who Do. We heard from female Rabbis and Cantors, we learned about the historical Jewish presence in Florida, we had a "real life" conversation amongst Golda Meir, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and of course Hadassah's own Henrietta Szold, hence the Szoldies. We had fun with Jewish Jeopardy.

Important Announcement 2 Graphic
Hadassah will be returning to in-person events and gatherings!

If your Hadassah chapter will be returning to in person events, local units are required to follow state and local laws and regulations, the current CDC guidelines and recommendations as well as the following Hadassah protocols in order to conduct activities in the safest and healthiest manner possible. Please note: applicable Florida law states that businesses operating in Florida may not require patrons/customers to provide any documentation certifying COVID-19 vaccination or post-infection recovery to gain access to or receive services from the business. These protocols have been mailed to chapter leadership. If you would like a copy of the protocols or have questions about implementing them, email floridarequests@hadassah.org.

Lets Stay Connected Graphic

Fostering women's health and well-being through education, research and advocacy are long-time cornerstones of Hadassah's mission. In the listings below, you'll find ways to boost your body and spirit, from moving for heart health to watching informative programs right from home.

Yet distressingly, this is also happening at a time when we are witnessing a major threat to women's reproductive freedom. Hadassah is unwavering in support for full and complete access to reproductive health services and a woman's right to make health decisions according to her own religious, moral and ethical values. Yesterday, Hadassah members made their voices heard at The Jewish Rally for Abortion Justice. Watch Hadassah CEO Naomi Adler's stirring remarks here. Now, we need your help: find actions you can take and mobilize with #Hadassah4Choice

Yom Yerushalayim celebration: Hadassah and Jerusalem: United Forever. Join us for a heartwarming, historical, virtual celebration of the reunification of Jerusalem and our two hospitals which took place on June 7, 1967. This virtual celebration will feature musical performances from Israeli performers, powerful speakers and never-before-seen videos that will surely inspire you. Wednesday, June 1, 8 pm ET.

One Book, One Hadassah: Live with Rachel Barenbaum, the award-winning author of Atomic Anna. Exploring intergenerational trauma and Jewish identity in both the former Soviet Union and 20th century America, Atomic Anna grapples with themes of love and responsibility and the bonds between mother and daughters. Wednesday, June 15, 7 pm ET.

New frontiers in medicine: Listen to the latest podcast episode of Hadassah On Call: The Future Is Now: Precision Medicine, Stem Cells and More.
