As the song says, June is Busting Out All Over. America and many parts of our world are opening up, stretching their limbs, making a calculated reentry into in person life. We are not there 100%, we still have our protocols, but we can see the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel.
The world again has witnessed Hamas aggression against Israel, with relentless rocket strikes and mob violence. Israel responded with attacks on Hamas terror infrastructure, and the same chorus of bad press and condemnation followed. We can take heart that our government came right out and said Israel has a right to defend itself, but they did want a cease fire as soon as possible. And who wouldn't?

The four Regions of Hadassah Florida have decided that Florida chapters should continue to hold all meetings and events virtually. Hadassah’s National leadership is reviewing current guidelines. Should National revise these guidelines, local policy will also be reviewed. We thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Kidney from Jew killed in mob violence goes to Arab womanRanda Aweis, 58, waited nine years for the organ donation that would change her life. An Arab Christian, born in the Old City of Jerusalem, she was relying on regular dialysis sessions as her kidneys failed. Then the call came: A donor kidney was available. HADASSAH ADVOCACY TEAMS SHARE LEGISLATIVE VIEWS WITH CONGRESSMAN TED DEUTCH
BOYNTON BEACH, FL – members of the Hadassah Florida Atlantic and Hadassah Broward Region advocacy teams had the opportunity to share the organization’s views on a variety of legislative issues with Congressman Ted Deutch and his District Director – Wendi Lipsich at a virtual Day in the District session on May 10.
Guided by Susan Wakshul and Elaine Rosenberg, respectively the Florida Atlantic and Florida Broward Vice Presidents of Education and Advocacy, Lois Berkson – Florida Broward Region President and Joy Parks, Florida Atlantic Advocacy Chair, Leslie Klein, Ruth Di Stephano and Francis Shagrin supported by team colleagues spoke with the Congressman about specific legislation.
Update on the current situation sentiments in Israel

"As I write this, rockets are raining down on Israel from Gaza, and protests are being instigated in cities throughout the country. People have already died as a result of this senseless violence and more will surely follow in the next few days. As a Palestinian living in Jerusalem, I am frustrated and angry – and I can only blame Hamas. The fanatics who rule over Gaza with an iron first cannot resist the opportunity to stir up anti-Jewish violence for their own political gain. If innocent Jews and Muslims die in the process, all the better for them.
The pretext for the latest missile barrage and social media incitement is Sheikh Jarrah, where a long-running legal dispute was scheduled for a court hearing. This had been a private matter between Jews who have an old property deed from the 1800s and the residents of four homes who have lived there for decades and do not want to pay rent. It is the kind of situation that should be handled by a local municipal court. This could happen in any other country and there would be no public interest. But this is Jerusalem, so you have to view everything in the context of the political situation. You also have to ask yourself: who stands to gain from political violence right now?
