 HMA - Happy Passover Graphic.png

Shalom,

While COVID-19 continues to disrupt life around the globe, Hadassah is committed to keeping our members connected. We will help you stay connected when you cannot be close. You will find a number of online resources in this eblast to help you through this difficult time. Connectivity matters more than ever.

We hope that in this strange new normal this eblast is a help to you. During difficult times, Hadassah women have forged a sense of community that keeps us strong, giving us the means to not only sustain one another but heal others in the US, Israel and around the world. By following CDC guidelines and minimizing in-person contact, we are helping heal the world together. Let’s stay strong and stay connected. Remember to view the Hadassah homepage (hadassah.org) for all the latest updates. The coronavirus update page is updated with all the latest news coming from Israel, HMO, our youth villages, and around the US.

Passover 2020/5780 will be different this year for all of us. The Passover seder is one of the Jewish peoples’ most treasured traditions. No matter how you observe, know that we send you our best wishes and warm regards.

Stay Connected. Stay Healthy. Stay Informed.

Be Inspired and Support Hadassah Healing.

Make sure you are counted in the 2020 census.

Sarah and Marsha

P.S. Many regions events have been placed on hold and some are being held virtually.

This is not an event, per se, but a way to stay connected while supporting Hadassah.

Randi Cohen Coblenz, Communications VP for the region challenges every single member to subscribe to Hadassah ecards in time for Passover.

Let’s see if everyone reading this can not only subscribe to these ecards, but also, send one for Passover to a Hadassah Member in our region who is alone at this time of year.

Contact your Chapter President for the name and email of someone you don't know and send them a card.

Also, for every subscription Randi will send you a recipe for homemade Matzah that you can make with ingredients you already have in your home.

Contact Randi at rcoblenz@hadassah.org after you have subscribed and she will send you the recipe.

Looking for additional inspiration for the holiday? Turn to to Dr. Seuss for his hilarious rendition of the 4 questions!

And finally... are you at home with your kids or grandkids?

Here are some tips on staying at home or working from home while taking care of children courtesy of Karen Paiken Barrall, Director of Hadassah's DC Government Relations Office and mother to two children.

Working from home can be challenging. Try to focus on the kids and then focus on work. Doing both at once is too stressful.

Stick to a food schedule so your kids stay happy and full of healthy energy.

Make sure children feel connected and cared for. Remember, they're away from their daily routine of socializing with their teachers and classmates.

Make sure they are active during recess time, a much needed break will help them get back to work for afternoon classes.

Remind your kid not to pick their nose...because their friends can see them. :)

Make sure your kids keep the zoom camera on. Both my kids turn it off when they want to check out their friends or goof off.

Don't leave your first grader alone for a long time. Mine set up her dolls in front of the zoom camera in the middle of the lesson.

Stay positive and try and make the most of this time.
